Mrs. Zimmerman was born in Germany and came to the United States when a girl, locating in Detroit. A short time later she came to the Copper Country where she has since resided. Her husband, the late Fred Zimmerman, dies nine years ago. Mrs. Zimmerman was well known throughout the Portage Lake district and had a host of friends who will learn of her demise with regret. Her death was unexpected, as she enjoyed good health in spite of her advanced age. The following children survive: Mrs. Gust Heaft of Muskegon, Mrs. M. Thomas of Perth Amboy, N. J., Christ of Ripley, Mrs. Otto Burmester of Lake Linden, Mrs. Carl Schnaufer of Ripley and Mrs. Amelia Simmer at home.
